About
Goals and Objectives
The Chamber is organized to reach out and serve the Chinese business community. According to our revised By-Laws of 1950, the objectives and purposes are as follow:
- To promote and support the expansion and progress of Chinese commercial pursuits.
- To encourage international trade with the Far East, and other areas of the world.
- To advise and assist our members to solve problems relating to their business.
Future Goals
Throughout the years, CCCNY has maintained frequent contact with federal agencies around Chinatown regarding issues surrounding immigration, imports, exports, tariffs, shipping, etc. and with state and city government agencies regarding issues of community welfare, sanitation, parking facilities, traffic lights, street signs, police protections, and more. To further the expansion and improvement of our business environment, the Chamber hopes to accomplish the following interests:
- To develop cooperation with financial institutions to provide low-cost loans to the small businesses in the community.
- Collect and disseminate information and data on business conditions both domestically and internationally.
- Continually search for sources, commodities and supplies that would benefit the business of the community.
- To promote and sponsor a low-income senior citizen housing development with the assistance of the government.
- Issue publications from time to time to list information relating to commerce and trade of the community.
We also strive to promote civic engagement among younger generations, particularly college and high school students. Our hope is to inspire the next generation of Asian-American leaders to give back to their communities.
